After completing his pre-dental studies at Texas Tech University, Dr. Reece earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1978. He began his professional journey as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force, serving with distinction at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.
